CVS Minute Clinic - FTW!!!

A few weeks ago, my husband Henry came down with an extremely sore throat. Hurt to swallow and everything. As our doctor has recently decided to charge thousands of dollars a year for his new little "concierge" service, we've decided to no longer remain his patients. Thus, we're currently in limbo between doctors, which was not good for his situation.

Luckily enough, we mentioned this to a few friends of ours in passing conversation, and they recommended we check out a service at some CVS drugstores called the "Minute Clinic". It's a walk in medical clinic that checks you out and is set up to run a variety of tests, for a low price that is charged to your insurance and with no hidden fees.

With his throat not getting better at all, the next day he went into the clinic on North Lake Avenue. There was ZERO wait and he was able to get in to the nurse practitioner immediately. They ran a rapid strep test, which came out slightly positive. Within an hour and a half of arriving, he had a diagnosis and had his penicillin and cough medicine prescriptions filled! All without an appointment, and at a low low price!

The even cooler part is that the Minute Clinic has an online UI that allows you to access all your medical records that were created there, and also import them into two of the top personal health record (PHR) services - Google Health and Microsoft's HealthVault. They'll send you an email after you go there with the login information, and this past week they even sent a snail mail thank you card for using them!
This is an amazing service, but one that has not been properly marketed.

I know of so many parents who would completely use this service, if they only knew about it. The nurse practitioner who saw Henry told him that the service is in danger of being shut down at the end of the year because they aren't getting enough customers. I'm going to try and spread the work as much as I can, because I don't want this service to go away!!!
